Last Sunday we hosted our very first mini-retreat at the Lululemon store in Manchester. We had 20 people join us for some Yoga, High-Intensity training and some mindfulness and breathing exercises. Our friends at FoodWell provided some tasty smoothies and salads to refuel our guests.
The purpose of this mini-retreat was to bring people together that wanted to have a few hours of self-nourishment by treating their mind and body with some health-boosting activities.
One thing that really stood out to us was how much everybody encouraged each other throughout the day. Many people showed up to the event by themselves, not knowing any others in the group. And sometimes that can be hugely daunting, particularly when it comes to going to a health and fitness event!
‘Fitness’ can be a scary place for many people, and the thought of trying to improve your health and body, while surrounded by strangers can seem like the last thing on earth most people would choose to do.
Something was different last Sunday. Everyone was warm and friendly and encouraged each other throughout the afternoon. It was a joy to see.
If you’re someone who has struggled to get started with their health and fitness journey but would like to start, try and get around people who support and encourage you. It will make a world of difference!
And having support, encouragement and accountability means that you will not only see results faster, but the journey will also be much more enjoyable too!
